In 2016, Karnataka suffered its worst-ever drought in 40 years. The severe conditions lead to agriculture coming to a stand-still, as a result of which farmers were left unemployed with some of them even committing suicide. We realized that the root of the problem was their careless use of water, so we taught them a farming technique which would go a long way in saving water while also breathing new life into the agriculture industry in the state.
